Community Outreach and Sexuality Education

Planned Parenthood sexuality education includes comprehensive, medically accurate and age-appropriate information on a wide variety of topics related to sexuality and reproductive health.

Educators are available to present programs to middle school, high school and college students, at after-school programs, clubs, residential facilities, churches and social service agencies.

"No and Other Forms of Birth Control"
A complete look at birth control - including abstinence - with pros and cons for each method.

"The ABC's of STDs"
Information on sexually transmitted diseases, how they are spread, avoiding infection and getting treatment.

Wise Guys®
Wise Guys is a unique program emphasizing male responsibility in teen pregnancy prevention. Topics include self-esteem, decision making, dating violence, sexuality, STDs, and abstinence. Wise Guys® helps teen males develop a healthy, responsible picture of what it means to be a man.

Streetwise to SexWise®
Sexuality education for teens who have more experience in sexual behavior than accurate knowledge.

Our Whole Lives
Our Whole Lives (OWL) is a series of sexuality education curricula offered for different age groups. Programs help clarify values, build interpersonal skills and understand the spiritual, emotional and social aspects of sexuality while covering human development, relationships, personal skills, sexual behavior, sexual health and culture. OWL is a program created by the Unitarian Universalist Association and the United Church of Christ.

Puberty
Puberty is a multi-session program for males and females to learn about the physical, emotional, and social changes of puberty.


The SPECTRUM

Celebrate LGBTQ uniqueness in a safe and non-judgmental environment.
The SPECTRUM is a safe haven for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender or Questioning youth (LGBTQ), ages 14 - 18, in the Greater Reading area. Teens participate in recreational activities, socialize and receive information related to health, sexuality, and life skills.  LGBTQ youth face discrimination and increased risk for self-destructive behavior and other challenges.  SPECTRUM helps by providing support, camaraderie and education.
