BENTON HARBOR, MI —

Comprehensive health care for low income women, free or on a sliding scale based on income.

Medically accurate training for Peer Educators so they can give their high school peers responsible information about sexuality issues.

STD testing and treatment, HIV/AIDS testing and education.

These are some of the very worthy local Planned Parenthood programs that are being supported by the Second Annual Taste of Choice, held this year from 6-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14 at the Livery, 190 Fifth Street, in Benton Harbor.

“We are so pleased to be a part of the Benton Harbor-St. Joseph community, and proud to serve the 2,036 women and men in the area who come to us for confidential, safe health care,” said Lori Lamerand, CEO of Planned Parenthood Mid and South Michigan.

“But with one in four teen girls having a Sexually Transmitted Disease, we want to do even more in this community to provide comprehensive sex education, testing and treatment, along with appropriate annual health care,” Lamerand added.

Charlie’s Piggin’ N’ Grinnin’, The Livery, The Establishment Supper Club, Pauly’s Bar and Grill, Lark and Sons Bar-B-Que, Harbortown, solid Grounds, Reny Picot, and Tabor Hill will be providing food and beverages for the event, which costs $30 at the door and $25 with advance ticket purchase. Tickets may be purchased online at: www.plannedparenthood.org/midsouthmi.

You may also buy advance tickets by calling Leigh at: 1-800-638-0540.
