PPHP Peer Educators Summit

Teens From Rockland and Suffolk TIPS, Teen AWARE, and TAP Meet

Published: 08.05.08| Updated: 08.05.08

At the first PPHP Peer Educator Summit on July 18th, 10 peer educators gathered to share their skills, strategize about how to handle challenges, and learn new activities to use in their education programs.

The PPHP Education and Training Department held the first ever Peer Educator Summit on July 18th, bringing together teens from the four peer education programs: Rockland TIPS, Suffolk TIPS, Teen AWARE and TAP. Ten teens participated in team-building and program sharing activities, and had an opportunity to discuss their work, learn how the programs are similar and different, strategize about how to handle challenges they face as peer educators, share stories about triumphs and successes, and simply to get to know other young people who share their goals of helping teens to be happy, healthy, and safe.
