Over the next few weeks, we need volunteers to help us mobilize our advocates to contact their legislators about this important issue. We will be phonebanking on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in our Hempstead office. Phonebanking is a fun and easy way to reach out to our supports. We'll provide the script, phone and numbers, all you need to do is bring your voice!
To volunteer, please call (516) 750-2665.
People Rely on Planned Parenthood
It's a simple fact that is often ignored: for three million women, men and teens, Planned Parenthood is not just a place to go for birth control and family planning. For these people, Planned Parenthood health centers—including the ones here in Hempstead, Glen Cove and Massapequa—are their only source of health care, period.
That's why Planned Parenthood must be an essential part of any health care reform. Unfortunately, our efforts are being derailed by a small but vocal minority.
Anti-Choice Attempts to Hijack Health Care Reform
Anti-choice forces have zeroed in on health care reform as their chance to strike a devastating blow to women’s access to reproductive health care, including cancer screenings, contraception, and abortion. They introduced at least 30 amendments attacking women’s health care, some of which could result in taking away existing benefits from women and denying them access to trusted providers like Planned Parenthood.
While the Senate was in recess, it was clear that the anti-choice movement was gearing up for another all-out assault on women’s health care, using the controversy around health care reform, negotiations and targeting town hall meetings to prevent women’s access to comprehensive health care.
We need your help to make sure this doesn't happen! Call (516) 750-2665 today to volunteer to phonebank.
