FREE Birth Control & GYN Exams
What Is It?
Through the Family Planning Benefit Program, you won't pay anything at PPNC (or at other places in New York State) for your birth control and GYN visits. No co-payments, monthly payments or deductibles.
- Covers women, men and teens who are residents of Nassau or Suffolk counties
- Services include: GYN exams (including Pap tests), all types of birth control (pills condoms, the Patch, NuvaRing and others), emergency contraception (the "morning after pill"), pregnancy testing and counseling, STI testing and counseling, and HIV testing and counseling
- One year of coverage and then you can renew
- 100% confidential

Currently, a single person can earn about $20,400 a year or less and still qualify (income eligibility changes frequently - please call (516) 750-2500 to see if you qualify). You can earn even more if you have children or dependents.

How Do I Get It?
Call Planned Parenthood of Nassau County at (516) 750-2500 to make an appointment.
Before your appointment, collect all of the documents listed below that you will need to apply. Without all of these documents, you may not qualify for free services.
If you are unsure about obtaining all of these documents, please call us for assistance at (516) 750-2527 or (516) 750-2540 before your scheduled appointment. If you don't have your original birth certificate, we can help you obtain a copy.

- Original adoption or foster care records, or

4. Proof of address (dated within the past 6 months - bring two) |

- Letter or lease agreement

- Most recent month's consecutive pay stubs
- Unemployment or Social Security award letter or check stub
- Worker's compensation/disability award letter or check stub

- Student loan/financial aid award letter
- If a full-time student under 21, program card or class schedule

7. Letter of termination (bring if this applies) |
If you have held any other job within the past nine months, please provide a letter from your past employer on company letterhead stating your last date of work and your weekly income before taxes at that time.
If you cannot obtain a letter from your previous employer, please provide a detailed letter including your last date of work, gross income and reason you cannot get a letter, or call (516) 750-2527 for assistance. |
