Everything you want to know, but are afraid to ask about you and your body! The following Internet sites contain information and advice about many topics related to sexuality. With all of these sites, basic Internet warnings apply. Please be aware that any site that offers opportunities for visitors to post messages or responses may attract smut as well as wisdom. We caution anyone, especially teens, against exchanging information or meeting with people they encounter in the chat rooms.

Planned Parenthood

Offers a variety of information about teen pregnancy, sexual health, birth control and abortion, as well as resources for parents and other adults. Some topics, like "Having Your Period" and "Teensex? It's Okay to Say: No Way!" are written especially for adolescents. The site also offers the capability to search by keywords to find information you need and has links to hundreds of other sites of possible interest.

Montana Women Vote

Montana Women Vote is a coalition of ten state-level organizations that share a common goal of educating and mobilizing low-income women, many of whom have never voted, to participate in the democratic process. Member organizations, including Planned Parenthood of Montana, address issues of economic self-sufficiency, domestic violence and sexual assault, the environment, and reproductive rights.

Teenwire is a fun and informative new website for teens created by Planned Parenthood Federation of America. The site includes an advice column, a teen zine, and answers to life's toughest questions.

The Alan Guttmacher Institute

Provides access to its publications and mechanism for searching back issues of the periodical, Family Planning Perspectives.

The American Social Health Association

Offers news releases, brochures, legislative advocacy information, education materials, surveys, research findings and answers to frequently asked questions about sexually transmitted diseases.

Ann Rose's Ultimate Birth Control Links

A birth control educator presents specific details on birth control and childbearing. Lots of useful information and helpful links to related topics, including political and religious debates on contraception, are provided.

CDC National AIDS Clearinghouse

At this site you will find links to up-to-date information and resources on HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases. Order publication, search CDC online databases, take an interactive tour of the CDC National Aids Clearinghouse, view the Poster Gallery, or link to external, related sites.

Coalition for Positive Sexuality

This is the home page for the Coalition for Positive Sexuality. The site features a search engine, a forum for teens to talk about sex, an opportunity for "sexperts" to answer FAQs and links to related resources.

EngenderHealth

Solid facts are provided on contraceptive options, including temporary, permanent, and special needs. Good links lead visitors to recent publications, working papers, and issues in the news.

Go Ask Alice: Sexuality

Go Ask Alice is the award-winning interactive Q&A health site from Healthwise, Columbia University's Health Education and Wellness program. In addition to examining the answers posted, visitors to this comprehensive site can review details on a variety of sexual topics.

The North American Menopause Society

The Web site of The North American Menopause Society, the leading scientific nonprofit organization devoted to promoting women's health during midlife and beyond through an understanding of menopause. This site contains information on perimenopause, early menopause, menopause symptoms and long-term health effects of estrogen loss, and a wide variety of therapies to enhance health.

Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services

A source for Montana information and statistics.

National Abortion Federation

This site provides information on abortion and referrals, plus pro-choice political updates and information on how you can get involved in keeping your right to choose.

National Gay and Lesbian Task Force

Current information on gay and lesbian issues is presented at this site from the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force. Links are included to general information, press releases, articles, and upcoming events.

The Network for Family Life Education

A straightforward site written and produced by teens for teens. Sex, Etc., talks about love, sex abstinence, contraception, AIDS, STDs, drugs, drinking, violence and health topics.

NOAH, or the New York Online Access to Health

This is a project of the New York Public Library, the City University of New York, The New York Library Council and the New York Academy of Medicine. It contains an extensive selection of articles on a variety of health topics, including sexuality, STIs, contraception and pregnancy. A special virtue of NOAH is that all of its features are available in Spanish, as well as English.

Sexual Assault Information

The Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN) is the nation's largest anti-sexual assault organization. RAINN operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1.800.656.HOPE and carries out programs to prevent sexual assault, help victims and ensure that rapists are brought to justice. This site provides statistics, counseling resources, prevention tips, news and more.

SIECUS

Posts texts of many of its publications. A special section for parents offers such topics as "Communication Tips for Parents" and "Kids Online: What Parents Can Do to Protect Their Children from Cyberspace." Some topics are also available in Spanish.
