The Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE) training is a nationally recognized community program focusing on the dignified and compassionate treatment of sexual assault and rape survivors.
This team-based approach acknowledges the growing responsibilities of state and local jurisdictions for meeting public needs in the area of sexual assault, and highlights the creative approaches devised to meet those needs.
Physician assistants, nurse practitioners and registered nurses licensed in the state of Montana will be trained by Diana Faugno, MSN, RN, CPN, SANE-A, SANE-P, FAAFS, DF-IAFN to collect more timely and accurate forensic evidence for use in prosecuting suspected rapists. In communities where SANE pro-grams exist, the number of successful prosecutions has risen dramatically.
Diana Faugno is a experienced SANE trainer and registered nurse who has national recognition as an expert in this field.
PPMT has applied for 40 continuing education credits through the Montana Nurses Association.
- Thanks to a generous grant from the Montana Justice Department your $100 registration fee will be reimbursed for registered nurses, nurse practitioners and physician assistants licensed in the state of Montana after completion of the training. Participants from Montana may also receive up to $200 for travel, meals, and lodging expenses, incurred for the training. This additional assistance is limited, so please register early.
