Progress on the Prairie was held on Thursday, November 13th, 2008 at the NDSU Alumni Center in Fargo, ND. It was a wonderful evening! Keynote speaker, Former North Dakota First Lady Jane Sinner, delivered a power presentation addressing her experiences in merging her Catholic faith with her pro-choice values. More specifically, Sinner discussed teen pregnancy and the need for comprehensive sexu education. Planned Parenthood President and CEO Sarah Stoesz was elated to share the success story of the pro-choice movement in South Dakota - a second initiated measure attempting to ban abortion was defeated by 11 points!
Progress on the Prairie was attended by over 60 community members and successfully raised funds to aid Planned Parenthood's work in North Dakota. In fact, we raised double the amount we have at any of our past Progress on the Prairie events! Thank you, North Dakota!
