How does the Affordable Care Act (commonly referred to as Obamacare) affect me and when can I sign up for insurance coverage?
The Affordable Care Act (ACA) will make it easier and more affordable for people to obtain health insurance. Enrollment in the new health insurance plans begins October 1st with coverage starting January 1, 2014.
These new plans cover things like birth control and well-woman visits at no cost, as well as doctor visits, hospitalizations, maternity care, ER care, and other prescriptions.
Planned Parenthood accepts all forms of insurance and no matter which plan you choose, you can get expert sexual and reproductive health care at Planned Parenthood.

Is it true that birth control is "free" now because of health care reform?
As a result of the Affordable Care Act, private health insurance plans will cover birth control and some additional preventive services without co-pays or deductibles. As of January 1, 2013, a large number of health care plans now offer these benefits, while other insurance plans will begin to offer these benefits over the next year.
