Health Insurance North Dakota - The New Health Care Law

Get Ready to Get CoveredSometimes referred to as Obamacare, the new health care law states that all Americans must get health insurance starting in 2014. On October 1, 2013, enrollment in new health insurance plans will be available for people without insurance, with coverage starting January 1, 2014.

North Dakotans will purchase their health insurance from the federal health marketplace, HealthCare.gov.October 1

Plans available on HealthCare.gov will cover things like visits to the doctor, hospitalizations, maternity care, care at the ER, and prescriptions. Birth control and related visits are covered without co-pays or deductibles.

Under the new health care law, health insurance plans can’t deny you coverage based on a pre-existing condition like diabetes or breast cancer.
