How do you spend my donation?
Your donation helps us provide vital clinical services, education, and advocacy throughout our three-state region.

Health Services
More than half of our 64,000 patients live at the poverty level. Your money helps us deliver health care services to all who need them.

Education
Help others make responsible, healthy decisions by helping us to provide medically accurate, age-appropriate sex education. Every dollar counts.

Advocacy
We’re fighting for public policy that protects your health and safety. With your help, we’re building a grassroots movement that will protect your right to reproductive health and freedom.

How do I designate Planned Parenthood in my will or estate plan?
You can help us continue our legacy of personal responsibility and freedom with a planned gift. Please specify Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota tax ID #41-0948382. Planned gifts include:
     • Gifts in your will
     • Life-income gifts
     • Gifts of life insurance
     • Gifts of retirement plan assets

Can Planned Parenthood accept a matching gift from my company?
Yes. Contact your Human Resources Department to see if your employer has a charitable matching gift program. Also, if you give a workplace gift or through the United Way, you may designate your donation by simply writing in our name and address on your pledge form.

Is my donation tax deductible?
Yes. In addition, a portion of your admission price for some of our events may also be tax deductible. Just check your event invitation for information.

Please note: Donations made to the Planned Parenthood’s Action Fund are not tax-deductible because of the political nature of its work.

Why do I receive so much mail from Planned Parenthood?
Chances are you’re receiving mail from us, your local Planned Parenthood, as well as Planned Parenthood’s national office. Read the next question to learn the difference!

What's the difference between Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Planned Parenthood Federation of America?
Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota is your local Planned Parenthood organization, while Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) is the national umbrella organization.

Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota: 
     •  gifts support local clinical services, education, and advocacy programs
     •  a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization
     •  tax exempt
     •  local - supports Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota directly
     •  a direct health care provider to nearly 64,000 men, women, and teens

Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) - the national office:
     •  gifts support national medical, communications, legal, and public affairs work
     •  a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization
     •  tax exempt 
     •  a national umbrella organization
     •  a resource for policymakers, media, and health care providers

What’s the difference between Planned Parenthood and the Planned Parenthood Action Fund?
Within Planned Parenthood, there are three distinct organizations that serve our local community:

Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota: 
     •  gifts support local clinical services, education, and advocacy programs
     •  a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization
     •  tax exempt
     •  local - supports Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota directly
     •  a direct health care provider to nearly 64,000 men, women, and teens

Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota Action Fund:
     • engaged in educational and electoral activity
     • a 501(c)(4) organization
     • independent
     • non partisan
     • not for profit

Planned Parenthood Minnesota Political Action Committee (PAC):
     • works to elect pro-choice candidates to all levels of state and local government
     • one of the most active PACs in the state
     • focused on advocacy
     • engaged in voter registration and mobilization
     • may engage in candidate endorsement

How do I update my address?
Email us. Include your old address, new address, and the date your address will change.
