As a result of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), commonly called Obamacare, on October 1, enrollment in new health insurance plans will be available for people without insurance. The new coverage starts on January 1, 2014.
Planned Parenthood accepts all forms of insurance and no matter which plan you choose, you can get expert sexual and reproductive health care at Planned Parenthood.
Minnesotans will be able to purchase new plans on Minnesota’s state insurance marketplace, MNsure.org.
North and South Dakotans will purchase new plans through the federal insurance marketplace, HealthCare.gov.
Financial help may be available to make these plans more affordable, so people can find a plan that fits their budget.
These new plans cover things like birth control and well-woman visits at no cost, as well as doctor visits, hospitalizations, maternity care, ER care, and other prescriptions.
Under the ACA, health insurance plans will no longer be able to deny you coverage based on a pre-existing condition like diabetes or breast cancer.
Like always, Planned Parenthood is here to help - and Planned Parenthood will to continue to provide expert, nonjudgmental care when you get insured.
