Emergency Contraception

Emergency Contraception, also known as "the morning after pill" or “Plan B,” can be taken to prevent an unplanned pregnancy. If taken within five (5) days of unprotected sex, Emergency Contraception can decrease the chance of pregnancy by about 95%.

The sooner you take it, the more effective it can be. If you feel that you need it, contact us immediately. Emergency Contraception can also be given to you to keep in your medicine cabinet for future use just in case a condom breaks or you engage in unprotected sexual intercourse. For further information on Emergency Contraception, call your nearest Planned Parenthood health center.

Emergency Contraception is now available over the counter for women ages 18 and older; women under 18 may still get EC by having a short education session with one of our health center educators.
