Why is this so hard to talk about?
Many parents feel at a loss when they try to talk with their children about sexual development and puberty issues. We want to support parents in their role as the primary sexuality educators of their children. One way of doing this is to bring together parents and their pre-teen children (ages 8-11) in a fun and relaxed setting to explore puberty and sexuality.
The purpose of the workshops is threefold:
- To provide accurate, current information on female and male puberty
- To open the doors of communication between mothers and daughters or parents and sons about sexuality issues
- To support parents in their role as sex educators of their children.
