At Planned Parenthood, where diversity and inclusion are priorities, our Circles philosophy of safety and support for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning or queer youth makes a real difference in the lives of many young people. We believe that the self-determined pursuit of sexual health is important for everyone's well-being and quality of life.
Circles encompasses a number of programs and services that help to create safer environments for LGBTQ people:
- Peer education groups for high school students in Dutchess, Orange, Ulster and Sullivan Counties.
- Social events for young people including: holiday parties, field trips to museums, art galleries, trips to NYC and the theater.
- Advocacy training on LGBTQ issues and lobbying trips to Albany to meet with government representatives.
- Training and technical assistance for health and human service providers and school districts in our region.
