The all-new Memphis Monologues brings together a diverse group of prominent Memphis women to tell their own funny, sad and very moving personal stories about love, life and sexuality. Last year’s Memphis Monologues was a standing-room only event that featured a heart-rending tale by storyteller Elaine Blanchard; a powerful reminiscence by Action News 5 reporter Kym Clark; and hilarious commentaries by Memphis Flyer reporter Bianca Phillips and comedienne Katrina Coleman.
This year’s speakers include WMC-TV reporter Kontji Anthony and photojournalist Cynthia Perkins, Memphis Daily News reporter Aisling Maki, blogger and Commercial Appeal columnist Stacey Greenberg and mom blogger Shawn Karol Sandy. This year’s Memphis Monologues takes place at Theatre South, in the basement of First Congregational Church, at 6:30 on February 2nd. Admission is free, but donations to Planned Parenthood are encouraged.
