Planned Parenthood Greater Memphis Region and the YWCA-Immigrant Women's Services are offering a ten-week healthy relationships course especially for Latina teens aged 13 to 17. The class is called ¡Cuidate! Spanish for "Take Care of Yourself!"
¡Cuidate! is an evidenced-based and culturally-sensitive course designed to reduce sexual risk behavior among Latino youth. The class will be conducted in both English and Spanish and will teach teens useful information about abstinence, healthy relationships, safe sex and sexually transmitted infections. The information is designed to help young Latinas make good decisions in dating and in life. The class is fun and gives Latinas a chance to ask questions about health and sexuality in a safe and respectful environment.
A new ¡Cuidate! class begins meeting November 2nd. The class will meet each Tuesday from 4:15pm to 6:15pm. It is free, but registration is required. To register, please call YWCA-IWS at (901) 458-2550.
