Teen Education

In addition to the education programs provided to teens in local schools, Planned Parenthood is proud to announce the formation of a new education opportunity for teens, the Planned Parenthood ASK Teen Board.

ASK is a group of high school students dedicated to the belief that complete and accurate sexuality information is the right of every person and essential for making healthy and responsible decisions.

In support of this belief, the ASK will:

  • Advocate for medically-accurate, age-appropriate sexuality education for all youth.
  • Participate in training to expand their knowledge of reproductive health.
  • Act as a resource to peers and other community members.
  • ASK members become active members of their community by voicing their choice for accurate, age-appropriate, sexuality information. ASK is a place for teens to develop healthy decision making skills that can be applied to all aspects of their lives. They also have a unique opportunity to expand their knowledge of reproductive health and sexuality, develop leadership skills, explore activism, and learn about governments from the local to national level.

ASK will hold regular meetings and facilitate events to engage their peers and inform the community of the importance of reproductive health knowledge. These events may include letter writing campaigns, informational field trips such as lobbying, professional guest speakers, all-ages concerts, fundraising events and much more. ASK is a place for young adults to voice their opinions in a creative, fun atmosphere.

If you or someone you know may be interested in serving on the Planned Parenthood ASK Teen Board, please contact us at educate@mbpp.org.

More information for young people can be found on Teen Talk.
