In 1980, at the request of the Washington State Family Planning Program, services were begun in Skagit County (Mt. Vernon) and the agency name was changed to Mt. Baker Planned Parenthood.
In 1995, at the request of community members, services were begun in San Juan County (Friday Harbor).
For over 40 years, we have provided family planning and unintended pregnancy prevention to teens, women and men.
In 2008, we provided medical services to 14,287 clients for a total of 20,458 medical visits. Our education programs served 4,291 school-age children, parents, young mothers and special populations including developmentally disabled and incarcerated youth.
