Planned Parenthood is dedicated to serving the sexual health needs of our community, especially underserved groups who face special barriers to accessing quality health care services and information. We recognize that discrimination, heterosexist assumptions and lack of awareness of GLBTQ issues often interferes with the ability of GLBTQ individuals to have their health needs met. Planned Parenthood is committed to being a trusted and reliable resource for sexual health care and information for the GLBTQ community.
Our educators are available to provide presentations and trainings that are inclusive of GLBTQ issues on a variety of sexual health topics. We also partner with Skagit PFLAG in facilitating the Fab 5 GLBTQ youth group in Skagit County, a twice-monthly support group for GLBTQ teens. See resource list below for more information.
With help from the Pride Foundation, Planned Parenthood has provided community education and free exams for queer-identified women in need of low-cost services but often ineligible for free pregnancy-prevention programs. We continue to work on identifying other needs in the community and finding ways to meet them, and we welcome input from individuals who want to assist us in this mission.
For more information on the services we offer for the GLBTQ community, please contact the Education Department at (360)734-9007 x3711 or educate@mbpp.org.
