Rock the Boat with Planned Parenthood in Annapolis
For Immediate Release: Jan. 30, 2014
Annapolis, MD – On Sunday, October 2, 2011 Planned Parenthood of Maryland will be hopping aboard the MV Catherine Marie for an exclusive gathering with a private performance by folk musician Susan Werner. Werner was featured in a 1998 Peter, Paul and Mary PBS television special as one of the best of the next generation of folk songwriters.
Boarding begins at 4:45pm at the Annapolis City Dock (1 Dock St.) and we will cruise until approximately 7:15pm. Guests are invited to set sail in support of reproductive health care.
Maryland ‘rocked’ the political trends this year and squashed a record-breaking number of anti-choice bills. Plus, Maryland went against the national grain and expanded access to family planning services. With the enactment of the Family Planning Works Act, more Maryland women will be able to access birth control, GYN care, and life-saving breast and cervical cancer screenings through the Maryland Medicaid Program.
Tickets are $100 each and include heavy hors d'oeuvres served and catered by Aqua Terra of Annapolis. To purchase tickets call 410-576-2150 or visit plannedparenthood.org/maryland. 100% of the proceeds from this event will go toward Planned Parenthood of Maryland programs and services, including: life-saving breast and cervical cancer screenings, routine GYN care, contraception, pregnancy testing and options counseling, sexually transmitted disease testing and treatment, and comprehensive sex education.
