No Insurance? No Problem.

If you are a Maryland resident and a U.S. citizen or qualified legal resident, you may be eligible for one of Maryland's medical assistance programs.  You may also qualify for the coverage under the Affordable Care Act.

What's Covered?

All Maryland medical assistance programs cover family planning services, including GYN and breast exams, screening for STDs, and birth control. Coverage for permanent sterilization (for men and women), Gardasil HPV vaccine, and abortion services varies depending on the plan.

How do I apply for family planning coverage?

You can now apply in-person for the Family Planning Program at Planned Parenthood! Just be sure to bring:

  • A valid photo ID card
  • Your social security number
  • The social security numbers for any children you have
  • Other insurance cards you may have (including Medical Assistance and Medicare)
  • Any and all income information for yourself (and your spouse, if married), such as two current pay stubs, recent W-2, bank statement, unemployment letter, or school ID/financial aid award letter

To speed up your visit, print out the application in advance, fill out what you can, and bring it with you to your appointment. You can download the form here.
