“Program of the Year” Awarded to PPM Education Program

In June 2009, the Planned Parenthood of Maryland (PPM) Teenage Pregnancy Prevention program received the Caroline County Human Services Council Program of the Year award for “valuable contributions to the children, youth and families of Caroline County.”

PPM Educator Lisa Wallace, a Caroline County resident and parent of two teenage girls, has been providing education programs to teens, parents, and other community members in the county since 2008.  The Teenage Pregnancy Prevention program uses public awareness, community workshops and teacher education as a three-pronged approach toward sexual risk reduction among teens.  PPM provides the program with funding from the Caroline Human Services Council.

“Your commitment and dedication to the citizens of Caroline County is invaluable,” said an Official Citation from the Maryland General Assembly, signed by Delegate Richard Sossi.
