Our Services

Planned Parenthood Mar Monte offers the following services:

  • Condoms and other types of birth control to protect yourself and your partner
  • Sexually transmitted disease (STD) testing and counseling-it's a simple urine sample*
  • HIV/AIDS testing and counseling
  • Cancer screening and counseling
  • Male exams (check ups)
  • Vasectomies (male sterilization)
  • Referrals to other health and counseling services for men

*Some tests may require a blood sample.

STD Warning Symptoms

  • Sores, bumps, or blisters on or near your genitals, rectum or mouth
  • Burning and pain when you urinate or have a bowel movement
  • Pain, swelling, or redness of your genitals
  • Flu-like feelings with fever, chills, and aches
  • Pain, swelling, or redness in your throat

Male Involvement Program

This 10- to 12-week intervention program for young men is designed to promote responsible choices.

The program focuses on:

  • Giving participants the opportunity to build strong, healthy friendships
  • Investigating alternatives to risky behaviors such as unprotected sex and involvement with drugs
  • Participating in community activities

Participants will:

  • Learn how to be "Wellness Mentors" and take the responsible-behaviors message to peers in local communities
  • Engage in educational outreach to at-risk youth
  • Participate in hometown community service projects
