For Parents
At Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts, we believe that sexual health is essential to every person’s total well-being, and that parents and other trusted caregivers need the tools to talk to their kids about sex and sexuality. Young people are constantly bombarded by strong messages in our sex-saturated culture. They need access to accurate information in order to make responsible and safe choices. Our goal is to change the conversation in order to change behaviors, so that parents talk with, educate and support their kids around sexual health.
Talking with youth about sex isn't always easy. By providing parents with useful skills, information and resources, Planned Parenthood works to empower them to be successful in their role as the primary sexuality educators of their children.
Use the navigation bar on the left to find information about talking with your kids and other young people about sex and sexuality, including parents' roles as educators, themes to remember, conversational tips and example language, and facts on adolescent sexual development.
