Training and Education at PPLM

Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts is committed to improving the lives of youth, parents, and families in Massachusetts through education and training.   Our team of experienced educators come from diverse teaching and social work backgrounds and have expertise in a wide range of disciplines.  We provide school-based education, community education, and professional training across the state.

Our Programs

Get Real: Comprehensive Sex Education that Works
The Get Real program at Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts is a comprehensive sexuality education program designed specifically for middle school aged youth.  The curriculum package includes teacher training and family activities.

Let’s Be Honest: Communication in Families that Keeps Kids Healthy
Results of a national survey indicate that parents are the greatest influence on their child’s sexual decision making, however, parents often have difficulty talking with their children about sex and sexuality.  Let’s Be Honest is a program designed to provide parents of children in middle school with useful skills, information and resources, to empower them to develop the competencies needed to be successful in their role as the primary sexuality educators of their children.

Professional Training
The Professional Training program of the Education department stands as one of the most popular programs at Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts.  Teachers, nurses, social workers and other professionals who work with youth recognize PPLM as a trusted source of factual information on topics of sexual health, as well as experts in techniques of education delivery in the classroom.
