Training and Education at PPLM

Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts is committed to improving the lives of youth, parents, and families in Massachusetts through education and training.   Our team of experienced educators come from diverse teaching and social work backgrounds and have expertise in a wide range of disciplines.  We provide school-based curriculum, parent education, and professional training across the state.

Sexual Health Education for Teens by Teens

Get Real Teen Council is a year-long high school sexual health peer education program for tenth-twelfth graders.  The dedicated members of the GRTC are trained to facilitate comprehensive sexuality education workshops and to act as ongoing resources for their peers, families, and communities.

Curriculum for Youth

Get Real: Comprehensive Sex Education that Works  is a comprehensive sexuality education curriculum designed for middle and high school aged youth.  It is available as a curriculum package that includes teacher training and support as well as family activities.

Parent Education

Letís Be Honest: Communication in Families that Keeps Kids Healthy is a program designed to provide parents of children in middle school with useful skills, information and resources to help them be successful in their role as the primary sexuality educators of their children.  And, because we know middle school isnít the only time for parents to have ongoing conversations with youth about sexuality topics, we offer age-appropriate workshops for parents of children in early childhood, elementary and high school.  In addition, our Seamos Honestos parent education program is offered in Spanish in Western Massachusetts and creates an environment of trust and comfort to help parents talk to their children about sex and sexuality.

Professional Training

The Professional Training program of the Education department stands as one of the most popular programs at Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts. Teachers, nurses, social workers and other professionals who work with youth recognize PPLM as a trusted source of factual information on topics of sexual health, as well as experts in techniques of education delivery in the classroom.
