Vaginal Infection Testing and Treatment





Planned Parenthood of Kentucky (PPKY) provides testing and treatment for vaginal infections and urinary tract infections. It is important to practice good vaginal health - you can talk to your clinican or a PPKY staff member to learn more about how to prevent infection and care for yourself. 

 


Symptoms for vaginal infections typically include:

  • abnormal vaginal discharge
  • discharge with an unpleasant odor
  • itching in and around the vagina
  • frequent urge to urinate


Symptoms for urinary tract infections typically include:

  • frequent and painful urination
  • urine with an unpleasant odor
  • pain during sexual intercourse
  • cramping in the abdomen
