Our commitment to education:
Education is a priority for Planned Parenthood of Kentucky. As such, part of our vision for the future incorporates additional techniques (interactive and bilingual website) and programs (parent-child workshops; men's engagement) through which we can increase access to accurate information in our communities. From peer education to real conversations about sexual health and well being, to education of women, men and teens about the services we offer, we are committed to directing our efforts toward community education and outreach.

We are constantly striving to provide the best possible care for our patients. Technological improvements that enhance the ability to do this are developed every day. Integration of these technologies is imperative for not only the long term success of Planned Parenthood of Kentucky, but also to assure the best experience for our patients. Online access to health care professionals, advocacy models and enhanced telecommunication systems assist in our quest to extend our reach and our services beyond our cities into the rural communities of the Commonwealth.
Investment in our management systems and resources is also a part of our vision. The implementation of electronic health records, incorporation of health management systems, extensive research into innovative programs and cohesive communication with the public are all necessary for Planned Parenthood of Kentucky to meet and exceed our goal to provide accessible and affordable quality reproductive health care and comprehensive, medically accurate sex education throughout the Commonwealth.
Our commitment to access and outreach:
Planned Parenthood of Kentucky would like to have full service Health Centers in every county in Kentucky. However, we know the greatest need is for women, men and teens to have access to contraception, pregnancy and STI testing, and accurate answers to family planning and sexual health questions. Our vision also includes the development of Express Sites throughout Kentucky to make our health care professionals more accessible to address this health care service gap in our communities.
A centralized call center is needed to enhance the experience of those seeking services and information from Planned Parenthood of Kentucky. It is essential for our patients, especially those who are unable to travel to a PPKY Health Center or Express Site, to have access to appropriately trained call center staff that have the most up-to-date medical, sexual health, and policy information. We are committed to providing our patients with access to technologies that reduce geographic barriers and increase access to health care services and educational programs.
As PPKY expands its service area and offerings, it will become necessary for us to communicate change with our patients. Development and implementation of community outreach efforts that respect and value the needs and customs of diverse groups of individuals will be imperative as we grow and plan for our future.
