Planned Parenthood of Kansas and Mid-Missouri is consolidating its central Missouri services at its Columbia Health Center and closing its Jefferson City Health Center on November 30th, 2011. PPKM will continue to provide affordable, high quality family planning services at the Columbia Center with the same staff and expanded service hours.
Currently the Jefferson City Health Center is only open two days a week with staff traveling from Columbia to provide services. The consolidation of the two centers will enable the Columbia Health Center to provide a full schedule of visits, maximizing resources and expanding the range of appointment times available to central Missouri women and men.
For more than 75 years, PPKM has offered a wide range of preventive health services including life-saving cancer screenings, birth control, prevention and treatment of STD’s, breast health services, pap tests, sexual health education, information and health counseling. Our Jefferson City health center has been providing these life-saving prevention services since 1975.
PPKM’s highly trained health care professionals in Columbia look forward to providing continuity of care to the thousands of women, men and teens in the Mid-Missouri area who depend on Planned Parenthood everyday for non-judgmental, confidential health care.
We’re pleased our patients in Mid-Missouri will have continued access to the same trusted Planned Parenthood health care providers in Columbia. We will also continue to work with other Mid-Missouri area providers to ensure women and families in the Jefferson City community have access to quality reproductive health care.
