HotSpots is a summary of incidents of harassment and violence directed at Planned Parenthood affiliates, national offices, and other reproductive health care providers, produced monthly by The Security Group, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Inc.
Ohio 04/18/06 Vandals stole the lettering from a Planned Parenthood message board.
Pennsylvania 04/14/06 A Planned Parenthood health center received a nasty e-mail from a college anti-choice group, claiming to have been "inspired" as a result of the affiliate's Pledge-A-Picket program. The same sender made the same claim in an e-mail to two other affiliates.
Illinois 04/14/06 Approximately 65 anti-choice individuals took part in a silent Good Friday demonstration outside a Planned Parenthood health center.
Indiana 04/10/06 The lone protester at a small Planned Parenthood health center moved from protesting on the sidewalk to trespassing, placing a brochure on a patient's windshield, and another brochure on the door of the clinic.
New Mexico 04/07/06 A vandal used an air gun to shoot a marble through a large plate glass window at a Planned Parenthood health center, shattering the window completely.
California 04/06/06 A Planned Parenthood health center received multiple harassing phone calls from the same woman.
New Mexico 04/03/06 Vandals attempted to break the front door of a Planned Parenthood health center, hitting the glass with a heavy object.
North Carolina 03/11/06 The medical director of a Planned Parenthood affiliate received a package addressed to him at the affiliate containing a letter from a group of "former providers of abortion." The letter urged him to reconsider his choice to provide abortions.
