Local Training and Education

Planned Parenthood of the Inland Northwest believes in trusting individuals and providing them with the information they need to make well-informed decisions about sexuality, family planning, and childbearing.

PPINW's education programs provide the information, tools, and skills to help individuals make healthy and responsible sexual decisions throughout their lives. As experts in the field of sexuality education, our educators are trained to design and deliver unbiased, age-appropriate, science-based programming to our Inland Northwest community.

Current Special Workshops/Trainings

PPINW provides sexuality education programs for:

  • Teens:
Our Teen Action Board (TAB) is comprised of local high school students who are passionate about peer education and advocacy concerning teen reproductive health and decision-making.
  • Parents and Families:
We believe parents are the primary sexuality educators of their children. We help strengthen families by offering tools for better communication about sensitive issues.
  • Schools and Community Education:
PPINW is the community’s resource for medically-accurate, age-appropriate, and evidence-based sexuality education. Our educators are available to offer age and developmentally appropriate programs on reproductive anatomy, puberty, communication skills, healthy relationships, abstinence, contraception, sexually transmitted infection prevention, responsible sexual decision making, sexual orientation and many other sexuality related topics.
  • Individuals with Developmental Disabilities:
We believe in acting courageously, especially as allies with those who have little or no voice and little or no power. Sexual education for people with disabilities is very important and our educators are trained to offer developmentally appropriate information that will help keep this vulnerable population safe.
  • Professionals:
As experts in the field of sexuality education, our educators serve as a resource and offer training opportunities to teachers, childcare providers, social workers counselors, clergy, health care workers and other professionals.
  • Adults:
We believe that the free and joyous expression of one's own sexuality is central to being fully human throughout our lives. We offer information and workshops on such topics as safer sex, contraception, menopause and sexuality for mid and later life.
