Developmental Disabilities

We believe in acting courageously, especially as allies with those who have little or no voice and little or no power.

Sexual education for people with developmental disabilities is very important and our educators are trained to offer developmentally appropriate information that will help keep this vulnerable population safe. The incidence of sexual abuse among people with disabilities is indisputably high. Some authorities estimate the rate of abuse to be as high as 90%. Educating people about their own bodies and how to effectively advocate for themselves is an important step in decreasing these numbers.

Important Topics Include:

  • Dating and relationships
  • Reproduction

  • Sexually transmitted infections
