The Women's Equality Act
New York has long served as a model for equality and fairness, including being a leader in advancing and protecting women’s rights. A woman can only be an equal citizen when she can make her own decisions about health care, including pregnancy.
The NY Women’s Equality Coalition supports the Women’s Equality Agenda, a groundbreaking plan to break down the barriers that cause discrimination against women. The plan includes these ten points:
• Equal Pay for Equal Work
• Stop sexual harassment in all workplaces
• Ensure just restitution for victims of discrimination
• Strengthen human trafficking laws
• End discrimination against families
• End discrimination against tenants
• Stop housing discrimination
• End pregnancy discrimination once and for all
• Protect domestic violence victims seeking orders of protection
• Protect reproductive health care decisions
Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic is proud to be part of the NY Women’s Equality Coalition, a group of more than 550 organizations supporting the Women’s Equality Agenda. Tell your legislator you stand with the 80% of New Yorkers who support the reproductive health provision of the Women’s Equality Agenda.

PPHP is able to deliver the high-quality health care and service we do because of the help provided by volunteers and interns. Play a vital role in advancing our mission! Assistance is needed in health services, public affairs, fundraising, education and training, and community outreach. Help others by donating your time and skills.
We'll work together to find the right "fit" and schedule for you! Our orientation helps get volunteers settled in to their new role(s) in our organization. Training is also provided -- it varies by position -- and volunteers have ongoing support from their assigned supervisor and the volunteer office.
To get started, please print out and complete our Volunteer Application. You'll be glad you did. Return the completed form to the appropriate location indicated at the top of the application. A member of the Volunteer or Human Resources staff will contact you.
