Celebrating the freedom to read was the theme at the New City and Nyack Libraries in Rockland County during Banned Books Week, September 27 through October 4.
Rockland County high school students, including PPHP Teen Information Peer Services (TIPS) educators, participated in a reading of banned books, organized by Rockland Family Shelter. The teens read selections from books including,
Tango Makes Three, The Chocolate War, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.
