On February 1, 2012, Pfizer announced a recall of birth control tablets with the brand name of Lo Ovral-28. The recall is because of a packaging error.
Planned Parenthood of the Heartland does not carry this brand name of birth control pills so patients would not have received this brand of birth control tablets from a Planned Parenthood of the Heartland health centers or pharmacies. However, patients filling their prescription through non-Planned Parenthood health centers or pharmacies should check with their pharmacy.
Anyone feeling as though they have been affected in some way because of being prescribed the pill by a different provider should make an appointment immediately so Planned Parenthood can provide assistance them with alternative birth control options.
