“Planned Parenthood will ensure that sexuality is understood as an essential, lifelong aspect of being human, and that it is celebrated with respect, openness and mutuality.”
Goal One, Vision 2025, Planned Parenthood Federation of America
Planned Parenthood of the Heartland's (PPHeartland) Education and Resource Center's (ERC) offer age-appropriate and research-based programs in reproductive health, human development and sexuality education for youth and adults in a variety of settings.
The ERCs are also proud to have Iowa and Nebraska's most comprehensive collection of sexuality education materials in each of our three libraries located in Des Moines, Lincoln, and Omaha. Looking for a book, a video or a pamphlet? The ERC is the best place to find anything you may need to know about sexuality.
How is the ERC Funded?
PPHeartland education and outreach efforts are supported around the state by two book sales held in the spring and fall of each year. The sales, which feature a combined total of over 600,000 books and other items, raise nearly $500,000 annually to support the work of educators in their teaching and outreach efforts. Read more about the book sale.
Books and other items can be donated to PPHeartland for these sales at the Jacqueline N. Blank Book Drop, located at 123 Clark Street in Des Moines.
