School & Community Education
Planned Parenthood is a leader in sexuality education and community service programming. Our team of Health Educators provides instruction, activities and discussion to support and encourage responsible choices of today’s teens.
We pride ourselves in working with Science and Evidence Based Comprehensive Sexuality Education curriculums. Utilizing the F.L.A.S.H (Family Life and Sexual Health) programs from the Seattle and King County Public Health Department of Washington, we work with 7th through 12th grade as well as special education and developmentally delayed and disabled adults and children. We also work with the All Together Now program that incorporates the importance of parents as sexuality educators and is also evidence based.
As a fellow educator, you can appreciate knowing that our curriculum is evidence-based. You will see the outcome of this immediately when comparing students’ pre- and post-tests. We also embrace the importance of understanding the many intelligences our students may possess and their unique learning needs. Utilizing psychomotor, affective, and cognitive domains in all of our lessons is essential to learning. Our Health Education Sessions are offered in interchangeable format and are tailored to fit the needs of the requesting school. We will work with your calendar and schedule to optimize our message. Additionally, we are committed to fostering a non-judgmental and supportive learning atmosphere.
Aside from offering programs to students and classrooms, our Health Educators provide parent programs that offer strategies in communicating with your children about sexuality. These are open to parents, teachers and community members.
