VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Volunteers needed in Raleigh, NC: Volunteer opportunities include translators (English-Spanish), front desk support, education and community outreach programs, political activity work, fund raising projects, HR/Volunteer programs and business office support. New Hanover and Pender Volunteers Needed: Adult mentors are needed in New Hanover and Pender counties. Adolescent Parenting Program (APP), which has offices in Burgaw, NC and Wilmington, NC, needs volunteers! Volunteers must be 21 years of age, have a telephone and transportation, and be a high school graduate. Volunteers must commit four hours per month for one year to a teen parent and will work one-on-one with a teen parent. Duties include serving as a positive role model, friend and advocate, helping with transportation, attending monthly peer group meetings with the teen, and encouraging good parenting skills, school attendance and responsible sexuality.
