Ed Spencer and Norrine Bailey Spencer have supported Planned Parenthood in the New River Valley in almost every capacity possible since the mid-1980s.  Ed Spencer is one of the founders of our health and education center located at 700-J North Main Street in Blacksburg.  He was part of a group concerned about unprotected sex, unintended pregnancy, and sexually transmitted infections widespread on the Virginia Tech campus during the late 1970s.  During her life, Norrine served on our Board of Directors from the early 1990s and chaired our Board during our organization's merger with a larger Planned Parenthood affiliate almost ten years ago.  She and Ed have served on our longest running volunteer group, the New River Valley Friends of Planned Parenthood and have been stalwart, committed supporters of our daily work in the Blacksburg community and beyond.
