CALL FOR ARTIST SUBMISSIONS

Announcement:

Planned Parenthood in Roanoke is pleased to announce the inaugural A Right To Choose! – An art fundraiser supporting the organization’s programs and services provided in the Roanoke Valley. (Note: previously we have held The Right to Shoes! This new event is an expansion of that past event). Local artists are invited to submit entries for an auction to be held on January 24, 2013 at The Sanctuary, downtown Roanoke.

• For this year’s event, artists should consider a right that they want to represent in the conception of the artwork entry. Examples include but not limited to: free speech, women’s rights, gay marriage, censorship, environmental rights, etc.). Can also be a right you wish existed.
• Entries can be of any medium of the artist’s choosing.
• All entries must be labeled with 1) title, 2) artist name, and 3) contact information.
• A copy of the below form should be included with the artwork entry. Please provide 1) title, 2) artist name, 3) contact information, 4) the monetary value of the artwork, 5) a materials description of the entry, and 6) a short artwork statement (purpose).
• Artwork will be auctioned at the event for fundraising purposes. Planned Parenthood will select entries for the auction and has the right to decline any entries. 

Entries should be submitted on or before Tuesday, January 15, 2013.

Artists will receive two complimentary tickets to the January auction event and will receive recognition at the event.

All entries will be judged by a panel for five awards that will be pre-selected and then announced at the event. All artists will receive recognition at the event (can be anonymous).
