All services at this health center are available on a walk-in basis. Scheduled appointments are also available.

If you need emergency contraception (morning after pill), you can walk in any time the health center is open.

Appointment Information

At this health center you can come in for appointments that do not require a medical exam. For example, emergency contraception (morning after pill) and pregnancy testing and counseling.

We do not provide childcare services. We request that you please make childcare arrangements.

Specialty Services

Pills by Mail is available at this health center — a service that delivers birth control pills to your home each month. Patients with a current prescription for some of the birth control pills that we offer at our health center can order Pills by Mail.

Medicaid accepted.

If you are uninsured, you may qualify for a state-funded program or a lower fee scale. Please bring the following documents:

Fees for services are based on your household income.

Abortion Services in Harrisburg, PA

Harrisburg Medical Center offers the following services:

abortion pill (medication abortion)

Here’s what you need to know about abortion services at this health center:

Abortion Pill (Medication Abortion)

Abortion pill (medication abortion) is offered up to 9 weeks after the start of your last menstrual period. If your last period was more than 9 weeks ago, we can still help. Call us for a referral list of health care providers in your area that offer other abortion services.

Abortion pill (medication abortion) services are available by appointment only.

Plan to be at the health center for 4-6 hour(s) for your entire abortion pill visit (medication abortion).

During the abortion pill (medication abortion) visit, you must agree — before you start — that you will have an in-clinic abortion if the abortion pill does not work.

After your abortion pill visit, you will need access to a telephone, transportation, and backup medical care available to you once you are home.

Other Abortion Services Information

Please do not bring children with you to the health center.

If you take any medications, please continue to take these medications normally before your appointment.

During your visit, you may be given the following:

a pregnancy test
a chance to speak with a trained staff person about all of your choices: abortion, adoption, and parenting
a conversation with the health care provider about your health history
lab tests/blood work
a pelvic exam
an ultrasound
medications to make the abortion more comfortable
medication if you are Rh negative
antibiotics or other medications
birth control information
a birth control method
24 hour on-call medical management and support are available.

At times there may be protesters outside of the health center. We suggest you avoid interaction with them.

If you are a minor considering an abortion, please read about parental consent and notification laws that might apply in your state.

Prices and Payment Information

Price ranges for our abortion services are:

abortion pill (medication abortion) - $435.00

Some services may have additional charges for lab and blood work

Payment is expected at time of service unless other arrangements have been previously made.

If you are uninsured, you may be eligible to receive financial assistance for your procedure. You can confidentially find out if you qualify by calling us at 717.234.2468. If you are eligible for financial assistance, you may be asked to bring documentation with you to the health center.
