Health Center Services and Information
Walk-in Services
Birth control refills, STI testing and treatment, HIV testing, Emergency Contraception, and pregnancy testing on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on certain Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
All other services require an appointment.
If you need emergency contraception (morning after pill), you can walk in any time the health center is open.

Appointment Information
Birth control refill pick ups are available Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on certain Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
At this health center you can come in for appointments that do not require a medical exam. For example, birth control education and supplies; emergency contraception (morning after pill); pregnancy testing and counseling; STD testing; testing and treatment for urinary tract infections
We do not provide childcare services. We request that you please make childcare arrangements.
Children under the age of 12 are not allowed to wait unsupervised in the waiting area.
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment to check in and complete paperwork.

Payment Information
Fees for services are based on your household income.
Please bring proof of income when you arrive for your visit.
We accept the following forms of payment:

- We accept Visa, Discover and Mastercard, but not American Express. We accept checks for all services except abortion.
Payment is expected at time of service.
You may qualify for a discount. Please inquire at check-in.
Insurance Information
The following insurance plans are accepted at this health center: Blue Cross and Blue Shield, most networks. Please bring insurance card. If you want to use your insurance, please be sure to bring in your insurance information at the time of your visit.

STD Testing, Treatment & Vaccines in Memphis, TN
Memphis Health Center offers the following services related to the testing and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs):
- STD testing, diagnosis and treatment, including:
- bacterial vaginosis (BV)
- chlamydia
- genital warts
- gonorrhea
- herpes
- HIV (testing and diagnosis only)
- syphilis
- trichomoniasis (trich)
- Other STD testing, diagnosis and treatment services are also available. Please ask our staff for more information.
- STD prevention, including:
- condoms
- female condoms
- dental dams
- HPV vaccine (Gardasil)
- hepatitis B vaccine
- STD/safer sex education
STD testing and treatment services are available:
- on a walk-in basis: Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on certain Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Syphilis treatment by referral
Vaccines are available:

Boostrix vaccine against tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis (whooping cough) for adolescents between the ages of 10 and 18 years is also available.
Many teens qualify for low-cost vaccines at PPGMR through the Vaccines for Children Program. Ask if you qualify!

Here’s what you need to know about STD testing and treatment at this health center:
We can test for gonorrhea and chlamydia using a urine sample. If this test shows an infection, then we will provide you with treatment and explain how your partner(s) can be treated.
For testing involving urine samples, including chlamydia and gonorrhea, do not urinate or engage in sexual intercourse for one hour before testing.
Rapid HIV testing can be done by swabbing the inside of your mouth or with a blood sample taken from a finger stick. The results are available in 10-40 minutes.
Counseling and confidential (private) testing for STDs are provided by trained staff who are sensitive to your needs and concerns.
Some STD tests require a genital exam.
Children and adolescents younger than age 19 may qualify for the Vaccine for Children (VFC) program, which provides free vaccines. Other fees may apply.
Individuals ages 19 - 26 who have no health insurance and meet financial criteria may qualify for the Merck Vaccine Patient Assistance Program to receive the HPV vaccine (Gardasil) at no charge. Other fees may apply.
Some vaccines are given in a series over the course of several months, which would require you to return to the health center to get the full benefit.

- herpes treatment - $95
- HIV Testing
- HPV vaccine (Gardasil) for an individual injection - $150
- HPV vaccine (Gardasil) for all three injections - $450
- syphilis - $70
- trichomoniasis (trich) - $67
- comprehensive STD testing, including - $150
- chlamydia
- gonorrhea
- herpes
- HIV
- syphilis
- Chlamydia and gonorrhea testing are always done together and the cost is $96.
Payment is expected at time of service unless other arrangements have been previously made.
