Health Center Services and Information
Walk-in Services
Walk-in services are available during all hours of operation. These services include:
- Birth control refill pickups for established clients
- Emergency contraception
- Pregnancy testing
All other services require an appointment.
If you need emergency contraception (morning after pill), you can walk in any time the health center is open.

Our health center is closed for the following holidays:

Appointment Information
Birth control refill pick ups are available during all hours of operation
At this health center you can come in for appointments that do not require a medical exam. For example, birth control education and supplies; emergency contraception (morning after pill); pregnancy testing and counseling; routine STD testing
We do not provide childcare services. We request that you please make childcare arrangements.
Children under the age of 10 are not allowed to wait unsupervised in the waiting area.
Only infants and toddlers in a car seat or stroller are allowed into the exam room. We request that you please make arrangements for childcare for any other children.
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment to check in and complete paperwork.

- We accept most major insurance company plans, including but not limited to, Optima, Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Health Care, Aetna, Tricare Standard, Hampton University Health Plan and PHCS. If you do not see your insurance carrier please call.
Payment is expected at time of service.
If you plan to pay for your visit with a credit card that is not your own, you must bring a letter from the cardholder with you.

Hampton Health Center offers the following services related to the testing and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs):
- STD testing, diagnosis and treatment, including:
- bacterial vaginosis (BV)
- chlamydia
- genital warts
- gonorrhea
- herpes
- HIV (testing and diagnosis only)
- syphilis
- trichomoniasis (trich)
- Other STD testing, diagnosis and treatment services are also available. Please ask our staff for more information.
- STD/safer sex education
STD testing and treatment services are available:

Here’s what you need to know about STD testing and treatment at this health center:
For testing involving urine samples, including chlamydia and gonorrhea, do not urinate or engage in sexual intercourse for one hour before testing.
Many STD tests require a genital exam.
Rapid HIV testing can be done by swabbing the inside of your mouth or with a blood sample taken from a finger stick. The results are available in 10-40 minutes.
HIV testing is done by a blood draw. The results are available in 3-5 business days.
Counseling and confidential (private) testing for STDs are provided by trained staff who are sensitive to your needs and concerns.
Children and adolescents younger than age 19 may qualify for the Vaccine for Children (VFC) program, which provides free vaccines. Other fees may apply.
Individuals ages 19 - 26 who have no health insurance and meet financial criteria may qualify for the Merck Vaccine Patient Assistance Program to receive the HPV vaccine (Gardasil) at no charge. Other fees may apply.
Some vaccines are given in a series over the course of several months, which would require you to return to the health center to get the full benefit.
