Note: Please note, our Trenton (Unit 1) health center is open every other Saturday. We are open the following Saturdays in 2013: 1/5, 1/19, 2/2, 2/16, 3/2, 3/16, 3/30, 4/13, 4/27, 5/11, 6/1, 6/15, 6/29, 7/13, 7/27, 8/10, 8/24, 9/14, 9/28, 10/12, 10/26, 11/9, 11/23, 12/14, 12/28. Our Trenton (Unit 1) health center will be closed for the mornings on the following days for staff training: 2/5, 5/21, 10/30, and all day on 12/13.

Health Center Services and Information
Walk-in Services
Walk-in services are: pregnancy testing, prescription contraceptive (birth control) supply pick-up, Depo-Provera ("The Shot") injections, and sexually transmitted infection (STI/STD) testing & treatment (gonorrhea and chlamydia only), and rapid HIV testing.
Walk-in hours are:
- Monday 11A - 5:30P
- Tuesday 8:30A - 3P
- Wednesday 11A - 5:30P
- Thursday 8.30A - 3P
- Saturday 9A - 11:30A
All other services require an appointment.

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment to check in and complete paperwork.

If you are uninsured, you may qualify for a state-funded program or a lower fee scale. Please bring the following documents:

Fees for services are based on your household income.

Women's Health Care in Trenton, NJ
Trenton Health Center, Unit 1 offers the following women's health services:
- checkups when you have a reproductive/sexual health problem
- breast exams
- cervical cancer screening
- colposcopy
- cryotherapy
- fibroids evaluation
- hormone replacement therapy
- LEEP (treatment of abnormal pap)
- mammogram referrals
- menopause and midlife — testing and treatment
- Pap test
- routine physicals for women
- urinary tract infections — testing and treatment
- vaginal infections — testing and treatment
- Other services we may provide include help with irregular periods or no periods, painful periods, painful sex, bleeding between periods, menstrual problems (premenstrual syndrome) or even a lost tampon.
Here’s what you need to know in preparation for a women's health visit at this health center:
Do not douche, have sex, or put anything in your vagina 24 hours before your pelvic exam. It is best if you are not having your menstrual period for some types of visits. Contact us if you have questions.
Checkups for gynecological concerns may require a pelvic exam.
For the testing and treatment of urinary tract infections, we will need to collect a urine sample at the time of your visit.
For the testing and treatment of vaginal infections, a pelvic exam may be required.
We offer education and treatment for menopause and midlife issues, including non-hormonal treatment(s).
Hormone replacement therapy requires a routine checkup or records of your current exam.
A Pap test is sometimes needed during a routine checkup.
Cervical cancer screening requires a pelvic exam and Pap test.
