Health Center Services and Information
Walk-in Services
We encourage most patients to make an appointment; however we will accept walk-ins on a selective basis for: pregnancy testing, HIV rapid tests, emergency contraception, or depo injections. We also make every effort to to see patients on the same day who have symptoms or known exposure to a STD or if we have contacted you to come in for treatment. There will be a wait. Walk-in clients should arrive soon after the health center opens and no later than 1 hour prior to closing.
If you need emergency contraception (morning after pill), you can walk in any time the health center is open.
Payment is expected at the time of service. Proof of identity, income and current address are also needed. Patients without Medicaid, insurance or any other form of pay source may apply for a financial discount but are expected to provide documentation of proof of income.
Accepted income documents include but are not limited to: current paystub, statement from employer, documentation of child/spouse support, unemployment benefit letter, unemployment card.
Accepted identity documents include: one photo id: driver's license, school ID, passport, alien registration card (green card) or two non-photo ids: library card, birth certificate, utility bill, credit card or insurance card.

Appointment Information
Birth control refill pick ups are available Anytime during normal business hours but refill orders require 3 day advance notice.
To order your birth control method for pick up, you must contact your PPKY health center at least 3 days in advance. To request a refill of your method, please call our office at 502-584-2471; press 2 (for a patient) and then press option #5 (if you are a current patient and would like to request a refill).
When calling to order your refill, please include your name, date of birth, your method and number of doses that you are requesting.
If you do not call in advance for method pick-up, you may not be able to get your order refilled during a regular clinic day. There are multiple steps in preparing your order for pick-up.
At this health center you can come in for appointments that do not require a medical exam. For example, birth control education and supplies; emergency contraception (morning after pill); pregnancy testing and counseling; STD testing; testing and treatment for urinary tract infections
We do not provide childcare services. We request that you please make childcare arrangements.
Children under the age of 10 are not allowed to wait unsupervised in the waiting area.
Only infants and toddlers in a car seat or stroller are allowed into the exam room. We request that you please make arrangements for childcare for any other children.
Please arrive 20 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment to check in and complete paperwork.

Women's Health Care in Louisville, KY
Louisville Health Center offers the following women's health services:
- checkups when you have a reproductive/sexual health problem
- breast exams
- cervical cancer screening
- fibroids evaluation
- mammogram referrals
- Pap test
- sexual response education
- urinary tract infections — testing and treatment
- vaginal infections — testing and treatment
- Other services we may provide include help with irregular periods or no periods, painful periods, painful sex, bleeding between periods, menstrual problems (premenstrual syndrome) or even a lost tampon.
Women's health services are available:

Here’s what you need to know in preparation for a women's health visit at this health center:
Do not douche, have sex, or put anything in your vagina 24 hours before your pelvic exam. It is best if you are not having your menstrual period for some types of visits. Contact us if you have questions.
Checkups for gynecological concerns may require a pelvic exam.
For the testing and treatment of urinary tract infections, we will need to collect a urine sample at the time of your visit.
For the testing and treatment of vaginal infections, a pelvic exam may be required.
Cervical cancer screening requires a pelvic exam and Pap test.
