Walk-in Services

Our Glen Cove site offers walk-in services for women Tuesday mornings beginning at 9am and for women and men Friday mornings beginning at 9am.

Appointment Information

Birth control refill pick ups are available as well as Emergency Contraception (Plan B, also known as the morning after pill) when the center opens and ends one half hour before closing.

At this health center you can come in for appointments that do not require a medical exam.

Specially trained staff are available for people with developmental disabilities.

Specially trained staff and medical equipment are available for people with physical disabilities.

We do not provide childcare services. We request that you please make childcare arrangements.

Children under the age of 12 are not allowed to wait unsupervised in the waiting area.

Only infants and toddlers in a car seat or stroller are allowed into the exam room. We request that you please make arrangements for childcare for any other children.

Payment Information

Medicaid accepted.

If you are uninsured, you may qualify for a state-funded program or a lower fee scale.

Fees for services are based on your household income.

Please bring proof of income when you arrive for your visit.

You will not be turned away because of your inability to pay.

  • money orders

Payment is expected at time of service.

Ask about the Family Planning Benefit Program for free birth control.

Abortion Services in Glen Cove, NY

Glen Cove Center offers the following services:

Here’s what you need to know about abortion services at this health center:

Abortion Pill (Medication Abortion)

Abortion pill (medication abortion) is offered up to 9 weeks and 0 days after the start of your last menstrual period. If your last period was more than 9 weeks ago, we can still help. Call us for a referral list of health care providers in your area that offer other abortion services.

Abortion pill (medication abortion) services are available by appointment only.

During the abortion pill (medication abortion) visit, you must agree — before you start — that you will have an in-clinic abortion if the abortion pill does not work.

After your abortion pill visit, you will need access to a telephone, transportation, and backup medical care available to you once you are home.

Other Abortion Services Information

Please do not bring children with you to the health center.

If you take any medications, please continue to take these medications normally before your appointment.

During your visit, you may be given the following:

  • a pregnancy test
  • a chance to speak with a trained staff person about all of your choices: abortion, adoption, and parenting
  • a conversation with the health care provider about your health history
  • lab tests/blood work
  • a pelvic exam
  • an ultrasound
  • medications to make the abortion more comfortable
  • medication if you are Rh negative
  • antibiotics or other medications
  • birth control information
  • a birth control method

You should return in 2 weeks for a follow-up exam. We can schedule this with you during your visit.

At times there may be protesters outside of the health center. We suggest you avoid interaction with them.

Women requesting the abortion pill may need a medical visit at Planned Parenthood at least 48 hours prior, during which a history is obtained, an exam is performed and lab work is collected.

If you are a minor considering an abortion, please read about parental consent and notification laws that might apply in your state.

Payment is expected at time of service unless other arrangements have been previously made.

Abortion services may be covered by your insurance. If you want to use your insurance, please be sure to bring in your insurance information at the time of your visit.

If you are uninsured, you may be eligible to receive financial assistance for your procedure. You can confidentially find out if you qualify by calling us at 516.750.2500. If you are eligible for financial assistance, you may be asked to bring documentation with you to the health center.
