If you have flu symptoms, we would be happy to reschedule your appointment. Please reschedule after being "fever free" for 24 hours.



There is no penalty for cancelling your appointment due to illness. A phone cancellation is very much appreciated.

Walk-in Services

Walk-in services: Pregnancy tests, emergency contraception, and birth control and Depo shots (for established patients) are available during normal business hours.

All other services require an appointment.

If you need emergency contraception (morning after pill), you can walk in any time the health center is open.

This Center offers same-day appointments over the phone. We start taking calls at 8 am and assign same-day appointments to see the Clinician. We are only able to schedule for the same day. No appointments will be scheduled in advance.

Clinician availability may affect access to emergency contraception and birth control supply refills.

Appointment Information

Teen clinic is available: Planned Parenthood of Central Ohio is pleased to announce the Teen Walk-in Clinic beginning Wednesday, October 15th. Hours of operation will be Wednesdays from 2 pm until 6 pm. Teens nineteen (19) and under will be the only individuals provided service during these hours. Birth control, annual exams, and STI testing will be available. Call (614) 222-3525 for more information.

Birth control refill pick ups are available During all business hours.

We do not provide childcare services. We request that you please make childcare arrangements.

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment to check in and complete paperwork.

If required, you may have to schedule a Pap test or a breast exam before getting a hormonal birth control method.

In order to obtain an IUD, we may first require an exam and a Pap test.

Here’s what you need to know about getting emergency contraception (morning after pill) at this health center:

Emergency contraception is available over the counter for women and men 17 and older. If you can’t make it in to a Planned Parenthood health center, you may be able to get emergency contraception at a nearby pharmacy.

Women under age 17 can get prescription emergency contraception following a visit with a Planned Parenthood health care provider.

HIV Testing

Franklinton Health Center offers the following services:

  • HIV testing
  • HIV referrals

HIV testing services are available at this location:

  • on a walk-in basis: The 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month, 3-5 pm.

HIV testing is first-come, first served, and only a certain number of people can be seen during the testing period; you should arrive as close to 3:00 pm as possible.

Here’s what you need to know about HIV testing at this health center:

HIV testing is done by a blood draw. The results are available in 7 days.

HIV counseling referral services are available.

HIV treatment referral services are available.

Counseling and confidential (private) testing for HIV are provided by trained staff who are sensitive to your needs and concerns.

Results must be given in person.

HIV testing is provided at PPCO Health Centers by the Columbus Department of Health.

Pregnancy testing and services are available:

  • during all business hours on a walk-in basis

The Health Center is open on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Saturdays of the month.

Here’s what you need to know about getting pregnancy testing and services at this health center:

Our pregnancy tests are urine tests. We do not offer blood pregnancy tests.

If you choose to continue a pregnancy, we will provide you with a list of resources to help you obtain prenatal care.

If you learn you are pregnant and decide to terminate the pregnancy, we will provide you with abortion services or refer you to an abortion provider.

Due to the time needed for paperwork processing, conducting the test and giving the results, patients should arrive no later than one hour before closing for pregnancy tests.

Franklinton Health Center offers the following services related to the testing and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs):

  • STD testing, diagnosis and treatment, including:
    • bacterial vaginosis (BV)
    • chlamydia
    • genital warts
    • gonorrhea
    • herpes
    • HIV (testing and diagnosis only)
    • syphilis
    • trichomoniasis (trich)
    • Other STD testing, diagnosis and treatment services are also available. Please ask our staff for more information.
  • STD prevention, including:
    • condoms
    • female condoms
    • dental dams
  • STD/safer sex education

Women's Health Services

Franklinton Health Center offers the following women's health services:

  • checkups when you have a reproductive/sexual health problem
  • breast exams
  • cervical cancer screening
  • mammogram referrals
  • Pap test
  • urinary tract infections — testing and treatment
  • vaginal infections — testing and treatment
  • Other services we may provide include help with irregular periods or no periods, painful periods, painful sex, bleeding between periods, menstrual problems (premenstrual syndrome) or even a lost tampon.

Women's health services are available:

Here’s what you need to know in preparation for a women's health visit at this health center:

Do not douche, have sex, or put anything in your vagina 48 hours before your pelvic exam. It is best if you are not having your menstrual period for some types of visits. Contact us if you have questions.

Checkups for gynecological concerns may require a pelvic exam.

For the testing and treatment of urinary tract infections, we will need to collect a urine sample at the time of your visit.

For the testing and treatment of vaginal infections, a pelvic exam may be required.

A Pap test is sometimes needed during a routine checkup.

Cervical cancer screening requires a pelvic exam and Pap test.
