Health Center Services and Information

Walk-in Services

At this health center you may come in during any hours of operation to pick up birth control refills, pick up emergency contraception (morning after pill), request or turn in paperwork, or make your next appointment.

All other services require an appointment.

Our health center is closed for the following holidays:

  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Day after Thanksgiving
  • Christmas Eve
  • Christmas Day

Appointment Information

We do not provide childcare services. We request that you please make childcare arrangements.

Children under the age of 12 are not allowed to wait unsupervised in the waiting area.

Only infants and toddlers in a car seat or stroller are allowed into the exam room. We request that you please make arrangements for childcare for any other children.

Payment Information

Medicaid accepted.

If you are uninsured, you may qualify for a state-funded program or a lower fee scale. Please bring the following documents:

  • birth certificate
  • pay stub
  • photo ID
  • Proof of address (an envelope that has been mailed to you at your address and postmarked in the last six months. The address needs to be printed on the envelope. Envelopes with plastic windows do not qualify. A gas bill with current address dated within the last three months also qualifies as proof of address.)

Fees for services are based on your household income.

Please bring proof of income when you arrive for your visit.

We accept the following forms of payment:

  • cash
  • checks
  • major credit/debit cards
  • money orders

Payment is expected at time of service.

If you plan to pay for your visit with a credit card that is not your own, you must bring a letter from the cardholder with you.

Insurance Information

Some charges associated with your services may be covered by your insurance. If you want to use your insurance, please be sure to bring in your insurance information at the time of your visit.

Women's Health Care in Syracuse, NY

Syracuse Center offers the following women's health services:

  • checkups when you have a reproductive/sexual health problem
  • breast exams
  • cervical cancer screening
  • colposcopy
  • mammogram referrals
  • Pap test
  • urinary tract infections — testing and treatment
  • vaginal infections — testing and treatment
  • testing and treatment for STDs, we well as testing for HIV

Women's health services are available:

  • during all business hours by appointment

Here’s what you need to know in preparation for a women's health visit at this health center:

Do not douche, have sex, or put anything in your vagina 24 hours before your pelvic exam. It is best if you are not having your menstrual period for some types of visits. Contact us if you have questions.

Checkups for gynecological concerns may require a pelvic exam.

For the testing and treatment of urinary tract infections, we will need to collect a urine sample at the time of your visit.

For the testing and treatment of vaginal infections, a pelvic exam may be required.

A Pap test is sometimes needed during a routine checkup.

Cervical cancer screening requires a pelvic exam and Pap test.

Payment is expected at time of service unless other arrangements have been previously made.

Abortion services may be covered by your insurance. If you want to use your insurance, please be sure to bring in your insurance information at the time of your visit.
