We do not provide childcare services. We request that you please make childcare arrangements.
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment to check in and complete paperwork.

Fees for services are based on your household income.

Payment is expected at time of service.
- If you want to use your insurance, please be sure to bring in your insurance information at the time of your visit. Please make sure to contact your insurance, before your appointment day, to check if an authorization is needed. If an authorization is needed, make sure to bring it in with you on the day of your appointment.
- If you plan to pay for your visit with a credit card that is not your own, you must bring a letter and a copy of the photo ID, from the cardholder, with you.

Abortion Services
First Avenue Surgical Services Center offers the following services:
- abortion pill (medication abortion)
- in-clinic abortion
- sedation options (medication to make the abortion more comfortable)
- pre- and post-abortion patient education
- referrals for abortion-related counseling
Here’s what you need to know about abortion services at this health center:
Abortion Pill (Medication Abortion)
Abortion pill (medication abortion) is offered up to 9 weeks after the start of your last menstrual period.
Abortion pill (medication abortion) services are available by appointment only.
Plan to be at the health center for 1-3 hour(s) for your entire abortion pill visit (medication abortion).
During the abortion pill (medication abortion) visit, you must agree — before you start — that you will have an in-clinic abortion if the abortion pill does not work.
After your abortion pill visit, you will need access to a telephone, transportation, and backup medical care available to you once you are home.
In-Clinic Abortion
In-clinic abortion is offered up to 24 weeks after the start of your last menstrual period.
In-clinic abortions are available by appointment only.
Plan to be at the health center for 3-5 hours for your entire visit for an in-clinic abortion.
If you desire medication to help make your in-clinic abortion more comfortable, you must have a responsible companion with you to help you get home safely.
If you are more than 13 weeks pregnant, your in-clinic abortion may require multiple visits.
If you plan to have sedation, please do not eat for 2 hours before your appointment.
If you have asthma, bring an inhaler if you have one.
Other Abortion Services Information
Please do not bring children with you to the health center.
If you take any medications, please continue to take these medications normally before your appointment.
During your visit, you may be given the following:
- a pregnancy test
- a chance to speak with a trained staff person about all of your choices: abortion, adoption, and parenting
- a conversation with the health care provider about your health history
- lab tests/blood work
- a pelvic exam
- an ultrasound
- medications to make the abortion more comfortable
- medication if you are Rh negative
- antibiotics or other medications
- birth control information
- a birth control method
At times there may be protesters outside of the health center. We suggest you avoid interaction with them. This health center offers escorts to walk you inside to your appointment.
- If you are diabetic, please make sure to let the person making your appointment know, so that special arrangements can be made.

- birth control pill
- birth control shot
- birth control vaginal ring (NuvaRing)
- condom
- emergency contraception (morning after pill)
- fertility awareness method
- IUD (Mirena)
- IUD (ParaGard)
- spermicide
- sterilization for men (vasectomy)
- The Mirena IUD and Paragard IUD are available, for immediate insertion, to Kaiser patients only.
- Vasectomy services are offered every other Wednesday evening only.

Emergency Contraception
First Avenue Surgical Services Center offers the following emergency contraception (morning after pill) and related services:

Here’s what you need to know about getting emergency contraception (morning after pill) at this health center:
Emergency contraception is available over the counter for women and men 17 and older. If you can’t make it in to a Planned Parenthood health center, you may be able to get emergency contraception at a nearby pharmacy.
Women under age 17 can get prescription emergency contraception following a visit with a Planned Parenthood health care provider.

Men's Health Services
First Avenue Surgical Services Center offers the following men's health services:

- Vasectomies are available, by appointment, every other Wednesday from 4:45 PM - 8:30 PM.

- vasectomy - $425-$709
Some services may have additional charges for lab and blood work.

STD Testing & Treatment
First Avenue Surgical Services Center offers the following services related to the testing and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs):
- STD testing, diagnosis and treatment, including:
- bacterial vaginosis (BV)
- chlamydia
- gonorrhea
- Other STD testing, diagnosis and treatment services are also available. Please ask our staff for more information.
- STD/safer sex education
Here’s what you need to know about STD testing and treatment at this health center:
Counseling and confidential (private) testing for STDs are provided by trained staff who are sensitive to your needs and concerns.
Prices and Payment Information
Price ranges for our STD testing and treatment services and safer sex products are:
- condoms - $3 for 3, $6 for 12, $12 for 24, $15 for 30, $24 for 48
- bacterial vaginosis testing and treatment - $15
- chlamydia testing and treatment - $5-$35
- gonorrhea testing and treatment - $25-$70
