All services at this health center are available on a walk-in basis. Scheduled appointments are also available.

Appointment Information
Birth control refill pick ups are available any time the health center is open.
At this health center you can come in for appointments that do not require a medical exam. For example, birth control education and supplies; emergency contraception (morning after pill); pregnancy testing and counseling; STD testing.
Specially trained staff and medical equipment are available for people with physical disabilities.
We do not provide childcare services. We request that you please make childcare arrangements.
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment to check in and complete paperwork.

The Texas Women's Health Program provides free annual exams, Pap tests, birth control and other services for low-income, uninsured women.
To qualify, women must meet the following requirements:
- Ages 18 to 44. Women can apply the month of their 18th birthday through the month of their 45th birthday.
- U.S. citizens or have legal residency status.
- Reside in Texas.
- Do not currently receive full Medicaid benefits, CHIP, or Medicare Part A or B.
- Are not pregnant.
- Are not sterile, infertile or unable to get pregnant due to medical reasons.
- Do not have private health insurance that covers family planning services, unless filing a claim on the health insurance would cause physical, emotional or other harm from a spouse, parent, or other person.
Proof of your income, such as:
- Paycheck stub issued in the last 60 days, OR
- Proof of participation in a state assistance program such as a current children's Medicaid ID (form 3087), WIC verification of certification, WIC voucher, or WIC/EBT shopping list, OR
- A letter from an employer, OR
- Proof of self-employment income, unemployment benefits, child support, supplemental security income (SSI), or other contributions.
Proof of your citizenship/legal residency and identity, such as:
- A U.S. birth certificate and Texas driver's license (or Texas I.D.) OR
- Green card and Texas driver's license (or Texas I.D.)

Here’s what you need to know about getting emergency contraception (morning after pill) at this health center:
Emergency contraception is available over the counter for women and men 17 and older. If you can’t make it in to a Planned Parenthood health center, you may be able to get emergency contraception at a nearby pharmacy.
Women under age 17 can get prescription emergency contraception following a visit with a Planned Parenthood health care provider.
Emergency contraception (Plan B) is available over the counter for women and men 18 and older. No exam or visit with the clinician is required.

Price ranges for our emergency contraception (morning after pill) services are:

- A second Plan B / EC is only $20 extra.

HIV Testing

Here’s what you need to know about HIV testing at this health center:
Rapid HIV testing can be done with a blood sample taken from a finger stick. The results are available in 20-40 minutes.
HIV testing is done by a blood draw. The results are available in 14 days.
HIV counseling referral services are available.
HIV treatment referral services are available.
Counseling and confidential (private) testing for HIV are provided by trained staff who are sensitive to your needs and concerns.
Results must be given in person.

Weslaco Center offers the following men's health services:
- checkups when you have a reproductive/sexual health problem
- jock itch — exam and treatment
- testicular and prostate cancer screening
- urinary tract infections — testing and treatment
- vasectomy
Men's health services are available:

- during all business hours by appointment
If you need a physical exam, please make an appointment or call before coming in to make certain a clinician is available.
Here’s what you need to know in preparation for a men's health visit at this health center:
Checkups when you have a reproductive/sexual health problem may require a genital exam.
Testicular and prostate cancer screening will require a genital or rectal exam.
Vasectomies are done through a partnership with local physicians. A physical exam and consultation may be required at the health center before a referral is made to the doctor.

STD Testing & Treatment
Weslaco Center offers the following services related to the testing and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs):
- STD testing, diagnosis and treatment, including:
- bacterial vaginosis (BV)
- chlamydia
- genital warts
- gonorrhea
- herpes
- HIV (testing and diagnosis only)
- syphilis
- trichomoniasis (trich)
- Other STD testing, diagnosis and treatment services are also available. Please ask our staff for more information.
- STD/safer sex education

Here’s what you need to know about STD testing and treatment at this health center:
For testing involving urine samples, including chlamydia and gonorrhea, do not urinate or engage in sexual intercourse for one hour before testing.
Many STD tests require a genital exam.

Weslaco Center offers the following women's health services:
- checkups when you have a reproductive/sexual health problem

- cervical cancer screening
- fibroids evaluation
- infertility education
- mammogram referrals
- Pap test
- routine physicals for women
- urinary tract infections — testing and treatment
- vaginal infections — testing and treatment
- Other services we may provide include help with irregular periods or no periods, painful periods, painful sex, bleeding between periods, menstrual problems (premenstrual syndrome) or even a lost tampon.

Some services may require a physical exam. Please make an appointment or call before coming in to make certain a clinician is available.
Here’s what you need to know in preparation for a women's health visit at this health center:
Do not douche, have sex, or put anything in your vagina 48 hours before your pelvic exam. It is best if you are not having your menstrual period for some types of visits. Contact us if you have questions.
Checkups for gynecological concerns may require a pelvic exam.
For the testing and treatment of urinary tract infections, we will need to collect a urine sample at the time of your visit.
For the testing and treatment of vaginal infections, a pelvic exam may be required.
A Pap test is sometimes needed during a routine checkup.
Cervical cancer screening requires a pelvic exam and Pap test.
